Cold Comforts is Canadian registered which means we cannot be members of ABTA/ATOL as this is for British Travel Companies.
Instead Cold Comforts have a fully comprehensive Tour Operators liability insurance which actually covers you for more than ABTA/ATOL - because we are dealing with the North American market as well our insurance has to cover us for absolutely everything!
The policy has been written and approved by the Council of Tour Associations of British Columbia and Tourism Industry Association of Canada which represents over 18,000 tourism operators.
Flights are covered by IATA.
Most Whistler based operators have this particular insurance as well as the activity companies based here.
In the extremely unlikely event of our insolvency, our insurance will ensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking.
We are also fully covered to take you ski guiding, as again we have to protect ourselves against other skiers on the slopes while we take you!
When booking any holiday we would always recommend you take out trip cancellation insurance as well as a good policy to protect against winter sports accidents. Credit Card Insurance does not always cover against Winter Sports - please double check this.
